Twitter fail

The world is currently awash with blog posts criticizing twitter for removing the ability to see @replies from people you follow to people you don’t.

Now if this wasn’t something you had enabled from the settings on twitter.com you probably haven’t noticed a change, but for me it’s rather annoying!

It was a great way of discovering new people to follow from conversations the current people you follow had with others, that’s now all gone.

Please twitter, re-enable this setting. Thanks.

Redefining Beta

Nobody does beta’s quite like Google, that’s a fact.

Due to an error with their comic being accidentally released early, Google has quickly released Google Chrome.

They may have rushed it but I can honestly say it is one of the best and most polished beta’s I have ever looked at.

Rendering is near perfect and with some work it will easily be on par with FireFox and Safari.

As usual Google has taken to simplicity, the toolbar is uncluttered, the tabs are on top of the browser with there own address bar and it’s super quick. The homepage is class even though it was first shown in Opera and Mozilla Labs (I’d say that’s a negative on their part that I didn’t know about it before Google Chrome).

Just hoping the Mac version is out as soon.

Aurora, Is it the future?

If you’ve missed the lastest fuss about Adaptive Paths latest product concept for Mozilla then, where have you been?

Ok if you missed it here’s part 1 of 4.

Aurora (Part 1) from Adaptive Path on Vimeo.

Well, wow. Quite mind blowing stuff. It has generated a lot of comments which some I agree, some I don’t.

One type of comment is, “It’s too complicated”, I’m sorry but I do not buy that comment. It’s a concept it’s at least 10 years off and what may seem ‘complicated’ now might now be in 5, 10 or 15 years time.

Thinking beyond just this concept how interconnected must our lives and our data be to achieve it, what kind of a operating system will be used, will there be just one operating system, one programming language? Lots of questions that I guess only in time will they be able to be answered.

Promising stuff but for the time, just a dream.
