Andy Clarke’s latest offering at 24 ways is greatly inspiring, while being a semi-fan of comics I have never really made a strong connection between that and web design. As Andy points out:
A comic book panel not only acts as a container for its content but also indicates to a reader how much time passes within the panel
So by making an element bigger you are not only creating more emphasis on it but you are also indicating that the user should spend more time looking at this particular element than any others.
What is a definite is that getting a couple of comics is now high on my letter to Santa!

With the latest issue of A List Apart, there is sure to be a lot of talk in the blogosphere about HTML 5.
We’ve had HTML 4 for a decade now and while its not perfect, what is? One thing that has me a little annoyed is the estimate for HTML 5 to be released, 10-15 years! Thats ridiculous. Now, I fully
appreciate its an immense effort, but that would make it over 20 years for when HTML 4 is released to the next iteration. I thought this was a fast paced industry.
What is clear is HTML has been pretty much forgot about over the last couple of years with exciting technologies such as AJAX and frameworks like Ruby on Rails.
Maybe we need to be calling for stop gap release, similar to what Andy Budd wants with CSS?
Just a thought.

With the return of 24 ways, I’m almost getting into the festive spirit, just maybe. I know for certain I am very much looking forward to the rest of 24 ways this year.
With three days already gone, be sure to add it to your rss feeds because I’m sure we still have 21 blindingly good articles to come!
At least I know when the family crack out that interactive DVD game, I will always have 24 ways to cure the bordem!
