2010 New Year Resolutions

As per usual I feel compelled to set a list of resolutions for the new year which, most likely I will not adhere to.
Oh well.
Here goes my list.
- Lose weight, more specifically I aim to lose at least 7 pounds per month
- Spend more time with my friends. I know I can sometimes get caught up with work etc
- Utilize Flickr / Facebook more. I have taken over 4000 photos last year and hardly any of them are on Flickr or Facebook
- Blog more, I would like to blog at least 2 times a month
- Learn to cook a wider variety of things and waste less
- Save money, I get paid substantially more than my girlfriend yet she seems to save more than me
- Release something open source, I would like to give back to the community which has helped me in my career
- Create my own commercial web application, I have so many ideas which I have not yet followed through, this needs to change
- Communicate with family better
- Give more to charity, I’m extremely privileged to have a great job, family, friends whereas some people have such a horrible time just trying to get through each day, now I know I can’t help hugely but everything counts, no?
I am planning on writing blog post in June summarizing how well I am doing with the above resolutions.

Why WoW Cataclysm is going to be amazing

World of Warcraft has got has got to be the most sucessful MMO ever made. So it’s a little strange why they would want to re-do alot of the basic macanics of the game. Personally I think it’s a stroke of genius and here’s why.
The best point of any MMO is the learning of new things and feeling like there’s this huge world to explore, when your at the top level and have been everywhere it eventually gets boring.
Personally I cannot wait till it launches!
Annoying iTunes with keyboard media buttons on Snow Leopard

This has been annoying the hell out of me since I upgraded to snow leopard! If you listen to any media player (spotify etc) then when you use the media buttons on your keyboard iTunes will load and play.
Well to fix this issue simple load iTunes and ensure the iTunes store is showing and the media buttons will not start/stop/skip within iTunes.
Hope it get fixed soon and isn’t some stupid idea as a feature!
Real Racing, really good!

I just simply had to mention the recent iPhone release of Real Racing by Firemint.
It has to be the best racing game on the iPhone to date. With PSP level graphics what really sets it apart is the AI. Every race you battle with the AI who overtake, block and down right try to ram you off the road!
The only drawback with Real Racing is that being such a great game your battery will get hammered.
