First impressions of a iPod Touch

I’ve now had my iPod Touch for just short of a week, so I thought I would share my thoughts on this exciting piece of equipment.

Firstly the packaging, It’s very, very small and it’s contents are fit snuggly into it. It’s great to see a company actually thinking every last detail through and Apple are well renowned for that.

The touch screen is truly amazing, it works so well and is so intuitive. Flicking through your album art is extremely pleasurable and I still smile every time I turn the Touch on it’s side to alternate between view modes. I currently have a Sony Ericsson P1i and that is extremely fiddly to use, using it without the stylus is like trying to plait fog with chopsticks.

The Safari web browse is in a class of its own! Honestly viewing the world wide web through it is amazing, truly amazing, however if you wasn’t accessing it through a Wifi connection the whole experience would be lost which is quite strange given Apple choice not to have 3g in the iPhone.

Maybe Apple are not the master’s of user experience after all…
